Job Description

Marketing & Sales is the most exciting role in any organization. It is also the life blood of any organization. Companies with great products and services will go nowhere or achieve very little if its marketing and sales department cannot deliver new opportunities. The Marketing/Sales Associate will be responsible for systematically identifying and creating a pipeline of potential prospects and engaging with them till they become actual customers

 

Position responsibilities

1. Lead Generation:

Effectively identify quality leads for the company (This includes coming up with brilliant strategies to generate new leads)

  • New individual customer leads
  • New Business Customer leads
  • New Wholesale or retail distributor leads
  • New Business Partner Leads

2. Prospecting:

  • Effectively (fast and accurately) scope the value of the opportunity that can be generated from a prospect and make good decisions on whether to pursue that prospect forward or not or decisions to prioritize prospects to pursue. (reducing the incidence of time wasting on poor clients)
  • Effectively create, or support the creation of an opportunity dossier on a high value prospect that captures an objective representation of the customer’s unique needs, purchase decision journey, and key influence stakeholders, and contains recommendations on offering proposition and engagement strategies to approach and vie for that opportunity

3. Customer Engagement:

Effectively take the company’s product or service to the buyer and get the buyer to make a purchase. This include:

  • Opening new relationships with prospects
  • Helping/guiding/influencing a prospective customer through the decision making process till purchase
  • Handling difficult prospects and customer objection

4. Customer Relationship Management:

Maintain a mutually beneficial relationship with a buyer to the end that the buyer is consistently satisfied, can remain loyal, make useful new referrals, or that the salesman can up-sell, cross-sell or next sell other offerings to the buyer.

5. New Opportunity Spotting:

Effectively identify new markets or opportunities for new products and make justifiable recommendations to his organization.

 

Competencies Required

The ideal candidate must be responsive and possess strong interpersonal skills required for teamwork. He/she must be hardworking, self-motivated and disciplined team player who is able to complete routine daily tasks every day and meet set deadlines. Other competencies required include:

  • Ability to write business letters, reports, information/action memos and emails
  • Ability to Research/Gather Data on a Subject
  • Ability to Investigate & identify client needs
  • Ability to create well structured power point presentations
  • Ability to Identify & create relevant marketing content
  • Ability to Read and compile documents for a bid
  • Ability to generate and qualify quality leads and manage interactions with them through a customer engagement tracker
  • Ability to come up with creative methods for creating customer awareness
